A Focus on Thanksgiving

  • 1 Corinthians 11:23-26   For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me." In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant between God and his people - an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this to remember me as often as you drink it." For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord's death until he comes again.
  • Proverbs 3:9-10   Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:18   Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:17   Never stop praying.
  • Psalm 95:1-2   Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
  • Psalm 100:1-5   Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and  his faithfulness continues to each generation.
  • Philippians 4:6   Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
  • Psalm 50:14   Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High.
